  • With the Vinicunca Rainbow Mountain Tour, we will appreciate a chain of mountains that as we go up, their colors will change until we reach Vinicunca, known as Rainbow Mountain for its similarity to the colors of the Rainbow and known as Cerro Colorado. And due to the large amount of minerals that it has revealed as a result of the thaw, it has obtained its colors that attract hundreds of tourists a year.

RAINBOW MOUNTAIN MOUNTAIN OF COLORS, the inhabitants call it Cerro Colorado or Vinincunca, it is a mountain in Peru with an altitude of 5,200 meters above sea level, this mountain is located on the road to Nevado Ausangate in the Cordillera del Vilcanota, in the district of Pitumarca.

Its slopes and peaks are tinged with stripes of intense shades of fuchsia, turquoise, lavender, and gold; The visual spectacle offered by Vinincunca has attracted visitors since the beginning of 2016, these sediments transported by the water that previously covered the area, over time were forming layers and the movement of the tectonic plates in the area raised these sediments until they became moutains. Then they were acquiring their striking colors due to the oxidation of their minerals, exerted by the humidity of the area and the erosion of them that today are seen as the stripes that attract tourists so much.

Machu Picchu is the main destination visited by every traveler, and the rainbow mountain is the second most visited destination, so we recommend that after making your tour to Machu Picchu that you reserve a space for the Rainbow Mountain with us.
