DESCRIPCIÓN DEL TOUR LAGUNA HUMANTAY CUSCO
With the Humantay Lagoon Walk, you will appreciate the impressive and beautiful natural landscapes of the mountains and glaciers of the snow-capped mountains of the Apu Humantay and the Apu Salkantay, you will observe the calm turquoise waters of the Humantay Lagoon and the exotic flora and fauna of the Andes mountain range. . The route will be divided as follows:
- → Asphalt route from Cusco – Mollepata: 98.5 km – By Bus
- → Carriage trail from Mollepata – Soraypampa: 22 km – By Bus
- → Soraypampa Road – La Laguna Humantay: 2.5 km – Hike
The difficulty of the hike is medium to moderate, first we will climb a wide inclined slope, then it winds up a stony slope; Finally we will descend to a small ravine where the calm and cold waters that are born from the Humantay lagoon flow.
The turquoise water of the Humantay Lagoon is due to the melting of the snow and fills the hole to form a lake. The erosive action of the glacier pulverizes the minerals in the rock over which it passes and the minerals form the sediments at the bottom of the lake and together with the micro algae of the species Microcystis aeruginos and Oscillatoria give it the turquoise blue color. This impressive coloration is very vulnerable to the action of man, for this reason, it is forbidden to enter the lagoon.

Itinerary
In the morning from 4:00 to 4:30 a.m., we will pick you up at your hotel in Cusco and we will begin the trip in tourist transport, we will go to the northeast of the city of Cusco. On the way we will pass through different towns and villages to the town of Limatambo, from this point we will ascend to the town of Mollepata. Place where we will have our breakfast, then we will continue our trip to Soraypampa.
Arriving at Soraypampa, we will begin our walk towards the Humantay Lagoon. The walk lasts 2 hours approx., Arrived at the Humantay Lagoon we will be able to appreciate the beautiful landscape and the imposing view of the Humantay and Salkantay mountains, after a short rest and taking photos we will return by the same route to Soraypampa, we will take our mobility and we will return to Mollepata, in this place we will enjoy a delicious lunch, then we will return to the city of Cusco arriving at 7:30 pm approx
