With the Tour to Palcoyo Mountain of Colors or “Palcoyo & Stone Valley”, you will be able to enjoy a wide range of colors. Vinincunca and Palcoyo offer surprisingly similar views, but there is a difference in terms of walking time. It is located about 3 hours south of the city of Cusco, near the Cordillera Vilcanota, in a group of whimsical mountains of unique colors that does not stop attracting the attention of travelers and tourists around the world.
To get to Palcoyo you only need 1h 30 min. Round trip through a relatively flat section, while Vinincunca is a 4-hour round-trip trek with a considerable incline. Both excursions take place at 5,000 meters above sea level, so the risks of the puna are high in either. You should know that vehicular access to Palcoyo is much more complicated than to Vinincunca. The roads are not in good condition, but if what you want is a short, relaxed walk through mountains of colors, to enjoy that range of bright colors and clean air … then Palcoyo is the option. The only recommendation is to go to this route in the dry season (May – October). But you can also go in the rainy season which is another experience.
The Palcoyo tour begins to be one of the most visited destinations in Peru apart from the tour to Machu Picchu, which many visitors take, so we recommend it 100%.

Itinerary
The pick up from the hotel will be from 6:30 to 7:00 a.m. once together with the whole group we will go to the south of Cusco, our first stop will be in the district of Checacupe in this place we will visit three bridges located at the same point, such as the Inca, Colonial and Republican. Then we will continue our journey until we reach the Abra Huallata Cunka in the Community of Palccoyo, which is located at 4100 m s. n. m., at this point we can see three mountains of colors. Once ready we will begin to walk for 1 hour visiting the Palccoyo Mountain Range and the Stone Forest. After the tour we will return to the city of Cusco, on the return we will have our lunch in the town of Combapata, arriving in Cusco approx. 6:00 pm.
